Photos Of My New House

Here are the photos I was talking about earlier. They're only exterior photos of the house and grounds; I'll add the interior photos later. These photos were taken with two different cameras (I was testing out my dad's new DSLR) so sorry about the quality changes between pictures. Also, the photos taken in the evening with all the house's lights on are from before we bought the house during the showing.

My father's vineyard at very extreme close-up; you can see our neighbour's house (the ones I was talking about earlier) I don't know if you can call them our neighbours though, since they're so far away and they're behind us not next to our house

Hope you enjoyed the pictures! Now I'm really starting to get tired. Goodnight and I'll write tomorrow!

Busy, Busy, Busy

First off I'd like to apologize, I know I said that I would write a post each day but I missed yesterday's! To make up for this, I'll write two posts today.
The reason why I couldn't write yesterday was because I was extremely busy furniture shopping. As you probably know by now, we only arrived at our new house 4 days ago! Buying furniture isn't a real problem though because we bought the house furnished and ready to live in; the only thing is, my mother is crazy about design so everything has to be trendy and everything has to match eachother, which unfortunately according to her, this house lacks in. My father is also very impatient so he wants everything to be done as soon as possible which is the reason for all our chaotic scrambling. After shopping, our new neighbours had invited us to dinner so we spent the rest of the evening at their house. Luckliy for us they speak fluent English, so my father's translator had come for nothing, hahaha. Well at least he got a free meal. I've been craving a home cooked meal ever since we moved here and I finally got to taste delicious French cuisine. My mother doesn't really like to cook so we've been eating cereal and other dry, packaged things for the past 4 days. This is why we used to have someone cook for us back in Canada, but my mom hasn't been able to find anyone yet so we'll have to make do.
I know it's like 1 a.m. and I should be asleep but I guess I'm still jet lagged as I'm not tired yet. I'll post the pictures of my new house right after for those of you who would like to see. Don't move, I'll be right back!

First Blog, First Post

Hi my name's Aurelia Maude (Maude's my middle name) and I'm 15 years old. This is my very first blog, and it's also the first time I'm posting something on the internet for the whole world to see. I recently moved from Canada to the French countryside and I've decided to document the culture changes I experience and the new environment I now live in. I hope some of the things I post here can help those of you who're moving to a new place as well and are having a tough time adjusting.
I love reading about other peoples' lives and how differently they live in different parts of the world. After reading so much about other peoples' lives, I've decided to give back and let you read about mine.
I'll try to write in here everyday since it's summer vacation. I might talk about homeschooling, my new house, life in the countryside, trying to learn French, the challenges of trying to furnish my room and etc. I also love fashion so I might have something like the outfit of the day once in a while.
Anyways, hopefully you'll enjoy what I have to say and stay tuned for some pictures!
